Low Key Crocodile
This shot was a Runner Up Winner for 2022 St Augustine Alligator Farm Photography Contest! I was fortunate to find this Nile crocodile "Crocodylus niloticus" in amazing light and shot this as a low key photograph.
Roseate Spoonbills
Seeing spoonbills is a real treat. These stunning birds dance in mating rituals and some scientists belive they gain their pink color based on the foods they eat like carotenoid-rich shrimp. I hope I don't turn pink--I eat a lot of shrimp :).
Great Egret Shows Off
Its the breeding season and great egrets show off their beautiful plumes called aigrettes. The egret turns a beautiful lime-green around its eye as it prepares to find its mate. Love these birds and the Snowy Egrets for their feather displays.
